What is Hyperprolactinemia?
Hyperprolactinemia is a condition in which the hormone prolactin is raised in the blood. The primary function of prolactin is to stimulate the breast milk production after childbirth thus inducing milk, therefore high prolactin levels are normal in pregnancy.
Generally high prolactin level raises in case of oligomenorrhea, amenorrhea, galactorrhea, or infertility.
