Homeopathy (veterinary homeopathy) is a safe, effective and powerful form of medicine, uses the principle discovered and developed by Dr. Samuel Hahnemann in Saxony during the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. The symptoms that a substance can induce are discovered by means of ‘proving’ – on healthy human beings.
In 1982 the British Association of Homeopathic Veterinary Surgeons (BAHVS) was formed, as a focal point for homeopathic vets. The first veterinary courses commenced at the Royal London Homeopathic Hospital.
In April 1986, the International Association for Veterinary Homeopathy was founded in Luxembourg.
In 2001, the first examination and qualification in basic (first-year) homeopathy was established. It was also the year of the emergence of the first Veterinary Repertory. There is now, therefore, a thriving UK homeopathic vet community and an equally healthy international homeopathic vet community.
According to the Academy of veterinary homeopathy, any kind of ailment that can be treated conventionally can be solved with homeopathy as well and that too without any side effects. With homeopathy, the recurrence rates are also minimum or negligible.
Homeopathy and veterinary Homeopathy were developed very extensively by Hahnemann. They did not stop developing, with Hahnemann’s death, however. So-called ‘classical homeopathy’, developed around the notion of giving a single remedy, based on the totality of sign and symptoms. Many homeopaths are using multiple remedies with a clinical indication, some of the practitioners are using low potencies and some are using high potencies.
Today the veterinary homeopathy is highly developed from Hahnemann’s original, with much greater scope.
Homeopathy for animals gives an excellent result especially in dogs, cats, and even cattle. Therefore, saving animals from the hazardous/harmful side effects of conventional/allopathic medicines and gives them a healthy lifestyle.
A veterinary Homeopathy is surely a great act of kindness that we can offer as homeopaths to the animals.
