Mrs. Kapoor (Identification number 34717) visited our Chandigarh clinic on 16th August 2017 with the complaints of hoarseness and the change of voice. The patient was unable to talk continuously for more than 15 minutes because of pain in the throat.

She was a diagnosed with bilateral vocal cord nodules in 2011. She also had the complaints of frequent cold and cough. Her appetite was disturbed because of the pain in the throat, due to which she was unable to eat properly.

She had taken conventional medication (steroids) for vocal cord nodule 6 years back, but it relapsed in the year 2015. She took steroids again for it. However, in 2016 she was advised for surgery as she became resistant to all medications.

Besides vocal cord nodule, she was also suffering from GERD due to improper eating habits and allopathic medication.

She was a teacher by profession. She was a confident, expressive, talkative, and independent lady, who was dedicated towards her work. She liked to keep herself busy.

She had no family history of vocal cord nodule, but her mother had the complaints of frequent cold, hypertension, and a history of heart attack.

Our doctors studied the case in detail and prescribed medicines.

On the first follow-up on 20th September 2017, there was 20%-30% improvement in her relief from the hoarseness discomfort. She was able to talk for a longer period of time than earlier. Her pain had slightly reduced. This time she took medicine for two months.

She visited again on 2nd December 2017 and reported that her voice quality had improved. She had not taken steroids or any other medication in that period. She also observed improvement in her gastric complaints as well as in cough.

On her third follow-up on 23th March 2018, the patient reported a complete improvement in her condition. She was asymptomatic. She had no complaints of hoarseness or the change in voice. The patient was very satisfied with the treatment as she no more needs to go for a surgery.
